Once water returns to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for ten minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Remove the potato(es) and strain the tea from the liquid. Going to a clinic to have kidney stones surgically removed is not a viable option to most of the peoples of the Amazon jungle. There is, within all indigenous peoples, a need to have some way of addressing a cleansing of the renal system -- even though the methods used by most native groups are marginally effective, at best. This formula has been determined to be far from marginal. The results from Dr. Rudranath Rickhi's clinic is listed below:
Ingredients: See active herbals (located on the "Medicinal Herbs of the Western Amazonia" web page).

Dr. Rudranath Rickhi's Findings
Objective: To evaluate the effects and effectiveness of a tea in the cleansing of sediment and residues from the kidneys.
Setting: Private clinic in Trinidad
Date of Final Report: February 22, 1997
Subjects: Random sample of 30 patients with various degrees of kidney sediment/stones.
Method: Random sample of 30 patients were given a complete cycle of the tea preparation, for 6 days, as directed. Radiological, urine and blood samples were taken prior to treatment to establish baseline values.

Effect will be evaluated by the subjective impression of the patient as well as the improvements in physical examinations (i.e. recording alterations in samples).

Results:

Responses varied amongst patients from 24 hours to 3 days to 6 days before the passage of the kidney stone and/or fragments which were collected in urine samples. Radiological assessments post treatment indicated a success rate of 90% in dislodging renal calculi.
